Coto de Caza Local Organizations
Originally founded as an international organization in 1976, Habitat for Humanity is an organization that helps eliminate poverty housing. In Orange County, the affiliate has already completed 62 homes and is in the initial planning stages for additional homes in Huntington Beach, Brea, Irvine, and Anaheim. This year Habitat for Humanity celebrates building 50,000 homes worldwide. For more information or to become involved call Barbara Thomas at (714) 589-3323 The Women's Club was founded in 1987 in effort to promote friendship among the women of our community. Each month they meet for dinner and a speaker on the second Wednesday of each month. They would love to have you visit with them and make a few new friends. The Women's Club continues to play a role in each of Coto de Caza's special events -- the Fourth of July Parade, Candlelight Concert Series, the Halloween Party and holiday celebrations. They also continue to support the Rancho Santa Margarita Library and other charitable causes. If you'd like to learn more, please call them and they'll send you our next newsletter with an invitation to attend a dinner meeting. Until then, welcome to the beautiful Coto Valley. We look forward to getting to know you. The Coto de Caza / Trabuco Canyon Rotary Club is well-known for it's support of civic, youth, and public services. The Rotary supports many hands-on projects, community events, and fund-raisers for the benefit of charitable organizations. Some of the latest events the Rotary has hosted include a cattle drive, golf tournament, a clay pigeon shoot, and annual holiday parade. Founded in 1905 by Paul P. Harris, the Rotary Club now has over 1,000,000 service minded members in over 172 countries. Based on "Service above Self", friendship, and fellowship the Rotary offers benefits to its members as well as the community it serves. Some of the many benefits of being a Rotarian are making new acquaintances, keep in touch with current events, develop leadership skills, obtain personal fulfillment by making a contribution to society, and receiving a warm welcome in virtually every major city in the world by fellow Rotarians. Membership is by invitation. For more information please call Ken Waters at (714) 858-9285.
